This is pretty disgusting: A senior official in the Trump administration just admitted to usurping the will and authority of the President of the United States. This is a literal coup, operating inside the White House right now, by someone who doesn’t want to exercise the 25th Amendment because it might slow down the fulfillment of his libertarian wet dreams.

Don’t get me wrong. There are bright spots that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the administration fails to capture: effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more.
But these successes have come despite — not because of — the president’s leadership style, which is impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective.
This is terrifying.
Whoever wrote this, they are admitting that they still support the overall goals of the Trump administration, they are just upset at the inefficiency caused by our President’s instability.
This basically means we have have decentralized fascism now. We know there are a number of white supremacists in the White House, and now we know there are people in the White House who feel entitled to make decisions only the President should make, without consulting the President. They complain that Trump’s behavior is “anti-democratic”, but they do no nothing to actually remove him, and instead they undermine the authority of the office of the President. That undermines democracy far more than exercising the 25th Amendment (which is the constitutional means for handling an unfit President) ever could.
The author wants to be seen as morally a good person, but they aren’t. They are operating the government behind the President’s back, because the President isn’t dismantling this country in the way they prefer. They are traitors and cowards, and publicly declaring their intentions like this can only make the President even more paranoid and insulated, which won’t be good for anyone either.
Hmm, is it a coincidence that this person suddenly came forward to cast Trump admin insiders as heroes, just 24 hours after word that Bob Woodward’s new book was going to make them all look like a bunch of idiots?
